Adam and Alice had the most relaxed, chilled out and coolest Norwich wedding at The Flint Room and Norwich arts centre. A new ceremony venue for us was The Flint Room a beautiful medieval (deconsecrated) Church with all the gorgeous architecture but filled with quirky cool stuff. A definite addition to our list of favourite Norfolk wedding venues! and prominent in our Norwich wedding venues ultimate guide. The couple had it dressed to their tastes and the guests were comfy on sofas as they watched everything unfold. Following up with a double-decker bus ride to their reception at The Norwich Arts Centre was an inspired choice and after a beautiful meal they had their favourite artist, cult folk legend Beans on Toast play to a packed dancefloor.
So here’s Alice and Adam’s wedding in their own words!
Adam – Teacher & hobby tennis player. Alice – Physician associate. Enjoys dog walks & painting. We met at uni as the oldies in our group of friends (both mature students).
Blickling Hall gardens- It was raining heavily so Alice found a place in the gardens we’d never seen before and we hid under a yew tree arch. Alice said some nice things to Adam, Adam commented on some lichen growing on a tree, Alice proposed, Adam said yes.
To be surrounded by our loved ones in our favourite places supporting Norwich businesses and artists like the Flint room and Piers. Also, for it to go exactly as it went!
Music was hard to sort (everyone was getting married this summer so bands were just gone) so we went all out and booked one of our favourite artists. So worth it. Flowers – Alice decided to grow a cuttings garden from seed which was brilliant but the centrepiece dahlias didn’t work thanks to the slugs.
Friends and family stepped up with cuttings from their gardens to help out, they were amazing. Adam had no suit until maybe 10 days before, 2 days before the wedding he sorted a waistcoat for himself and matching ties for the groomsmen. We had no cake so that was jumbled together last minute too. The little cupcakes went down a treat though.
