So, you're getting married in a castle, huh?
Good choice.
Norwich Castle is the most iconic spot in Norfolk to get married. High above the city with its stone walls, far-reaching views and history in every corner. It has presence without being overwhelming, and having recently undergone a complete renovation, it looks and feels world-class. All the grandeur of an actual Norman castle, with the cute and practical Benefactors room for your legal ceremony.
And after you step outside, Norwich opens up. Cobblestones, colour, market buzz, calm corners and the river, all the good stuff. It’s a city wedding with real character.
Actually, we’re going to have to say it – It’s a BLOODY castle! How cool is that?
Let's also not forget Norwich City folk. Friendly, welcoming, diverse, colourful and they absolutely LOVE a wedding. Every single time we’ve shot at the Castle and in the city after – the locals treat our couples like absolute Rock stars.
Norwich Castle weddings work perfectly for our style of shooting. The movement between the castle and the city, the nationally noted better weather, the energy of Norwich itself, it all creates space for real, unscripted moments.
If that sounds like your kind of wedding, you’re our kind of couple.
Norwich Castle weddings come in all shapes and sizes. We’ve shot everything from cute micro weddings to huge gigs and everything in between. The Castle is a perfect starting point for all kinds of wedding days.
We can grab you beautiful and fun wedding photos, however long you book us for, making it a budget-friendly option that packs a real punch. Click the buttons below to see what your coverage might look like.
1. You’re getting married at an actual castle – yeah, a real castle, on a hill in the centre of a historic city. It’s pretty much a fairy tale concept right? We’ll say it again, it’s a BLOODY castle!
2. If you have friends and family travelling up for the wedding there are heaps of excellent accommodation options, from the nearest Travel lodge (St Vedast street) to the Assembly House to suits all budgets.
3. There are heaps of reception venues, food options, pubs and restaurants close by to share food and drinks with your folks, family and friends after. You can easily find something at the right price, size and style to suit your budget and wish list.
4. The Benefactors room, where the ceremony happens is recently redecorated and incredibly tasteful and cute. When you’re finished you get to do confetti on a 1000 year old drawbridge.
5. Photo opps everywhere. Quite apart from the castle there’s the Royal Arcade, market place and Forum in easy walking distance and Elm Street and the River Wensum too.
6. The weather can’t break your plans. The castle itself has plenty of shelter and is easy to get to on foot or by taxi. Parking is literally underneath and there’s a lift for access in the dry for older folks too. Rain or shine, it’s a beautiful place to be.

We’ve chosen some we’ve shot weddings at after a Norwich Castle wedding and others that are personal favourites too – many of which are included in our blogs below.
1. The Assembly House
6 minute walk. Classy meets cosy whilst avoiding pretentious. The Assembly House is top drawer, that’s all there is to say. Here’s their website.
2. The Cosy Club
3 minute walk – We like the Cosy Club but we really like their separate small function room. It’s beautiful and cute and seats around 10.
3. Yalm
2 minute walk – If you tripped over on leaving the Castle, you’ll almost arrive at the doorstep of Yalm on finishing rolling. Varied and casual cuisine and they do have a private function room too.
4. St Andrews Brew House
5 minutes walk – There used to be a pub for every week of the year in Norwich, St Andrews Brew House is the one that’s hosted the nicest post wedding food we’ve been to.
