Bury St Edmunds was home to us for many years and we often go back for weddings which is nice, a sprinkle of nostalgia and bundle of local knowledge help make a great day. Taking into account that Bury St Edmunds is a really pretty place too and on the Angel Hill sits the Angel Hotel. We’ve shot weddings there more times than we can remember.
So we got a shout from Shona and Will who were having a small wedding in December with a bigger party day the following year. They’re a lovely couple and fully understood that December is a tricky month for weddings, we all agreed some ‘plan B’ options in case of rain etc.
So, yeah, it rained, pretty hard and it was chilly but our planning was solid and we think you’ll love these photos. Just so all the credits get mentioned, Suffolk Registrars made the ceremony special and after drinks at the Angel we all went up to Damson & Wilde for food in their cute private dining room.
The day was proof that you can have a small wedding in bad weather in December that ROCKS!

If you’re planning a Bury St Edmunds wedding you should give us a shout, we love them! There are more planning tips and real weddings on our blog here. We’re also pretty expert and making small weddings look brilliant and here’s some more proof. Give us a shout, we look forward to hearing from you.
