A beautiful Georgian Townhouse wedding in Norwich

December 29, 2019

One of our favourite days out this year was with Anna and Terry for their Georgian Townhouse wedding in Norwich. The day was so laid back and happy with an atmosphere which made everything feel fun and informal. The truth is, while driving home that night we discussed moving to Norfolk and becoming Norfolk wedding photographers. Just a couple of months later we did it! A big thank you to Anna and Terry for inspiring us – and for providing their view of the day here too.

“I work as a Health Visitor and Terry works in demolition (think big boy toys!), for fun we love spending time with our children, friends and our two dogs, since getting our pups we love to be outside walking.”

“Terry proposed to me at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, it was unexpected and very romantic!”

“Terry and I started planning two years before our big day.  I already knew that I wanted to keep suppliers local. We booked our venue for our Georgian Townhouse wedding first. As this was a second wedding for both of us, we were very keen to have a relaxed setting that had meaning for us. We stumbled across Green Acres at Colney after they advertised that they were starting to offer wedding ceremonies. For us it was perfect setting, amongst trees and nature which we love.”

“Our easiest decision was the photographers!  We met with Lisa and Neil at Elveden Inn and completely fell in love with them and their photos!”

“Both of us wanted a relaxed vibe surrounded by those we love (which we achieved), we steered away from formal and took an ‘anything goes approach’.”

“I found dress shopping easy especially after an appointment at House of Snow in Bury St Edmunds.  I went in with a style in mind and Harriet picked out something completely different which made me feel amazing.”

“Suit shopping again was easy, the boys all chose a colour and bought suits they felt comfortable in. No stress, no worrying about things matching, perfect!”

“Our wedding style was colourful, I didn’t want to have to worry about napkins matching with the perfect shade of pink or lilac, we went bright and bold and beautiful. My brief to our florist (Swaffham and Fakenham Florist) was colourful and that was it!  I arranged our signage with Bespoke Chic on Facebook, again I just said colourful to her and she worked wonders. We used The Little Lending Company and Hey Bubbah for our props. We had our cake made by Dust of Cocoa and was stunning (until it collapsed!! Neil took an amazing pic of the cake falling to the floor (and our Daughter looking on).  The bottom tier was saved and tasted divine.”

“We booked an old red double decker bus. It was really fun and practical to transport our guests to our ceremony and back to The Georgian Townhouse, Norwich.”

“I have lots of magical memories from our day. One of my most memorable moment was when Michael from our band, Cupid’s Wish played the guitar solo from Purple Rain! Just amazing! My other was being walked down the aisle by my eldest Son Liam, as my Dad died suddenly in 2014. I was able to have a photo of him on the ceremony table which was comforting.”

“Terry’s most memorable moment was the whole day, surrounded by those he loves (he couldn’t pick one thing).’

‘We laughed when we were taken to have our pics taken amongst the trees and my son Finlay was loitering in the background! We have a couple of fab pics when that happened.”

“Terry cried when our daughter Matilda walked into the ceremony room and walked down the aisle.  I cried when I said my vows and when Terry mentioned me in his speech, his speech was just beautiful.”

“If we could change anything about our day? We would have bought more alcohol for our guests before the ceremony. Our friends can really drink! Also the flumps on the sweetie bar lasted about 10 seconds! We should have bought more! We would not change a single thing that we booked, arranged or organised.”

“Our favourite photo of the day is one that was taken as we were doing our first dance. It’s very intimate and gentle and shows the world how Terry looks at me as if I’m the only one in the room. It’s gorgeous.  My other fave is one where we are standing and the trees are the main focus, that one is very special to me. “

Neil here – I just had to include a couple of photo’s of Terry’s Sister, Kylie singing to the couple after first dance. Kylie was backed by our favourite wedding band Cupids Wish . Lisa and I got choked up, as did everyone else, one of the best moments of 2019!

“Our advice for other couples is to be open minded, don’t get too stressed about the finer details. Our cake collapsed and it wasn’t a big deal. Enjoy the day and each other, it goes very quickly. Trust your photographer! The best advice we had came from Lisa and Neil x”

“We booked Lisa and Neil following a meet with them at a local pub, we hadn’t met with any other photographers and left that meeting definitely wanting to book them. Communication from them is spot on, they helped us with our timings and planning the day. We’ve have had glowing comments from our guests about how easy going/friendly and approachable they both are. We received our pics whilst on honeymoon and were simply awestruck over them, they were absolutely stunning and better than we could have imagined. If we were doing this all over again, it would be Lisa and Neil we would come to. Lisa and Neil are hugely talented and their work is beautiful.

Thank you both so much – Terry and Anna “
