We’ve been excited about Lia and Tom’s wedding ever since they first enquired back in April 23. We’d never been to Titchwell Manor before and also, we’d never been to a wedding with German traditions. We’ve never actually been to Germany, but it’s on our list of places to go. Lisa’s Grandad was stationed there with the RAF and we’ve been told endless stories about the culture, nightlife and their sense of humour.
It’s with a great deal of love we present to you Lia and Tom’s wedding and what they had to say about their day (Lia and Tom, btw, are the loveliest people, if you met them in a pub you’d get on with them like a house on fire)…
Tom grew up in Norfolk and now manages film locations. Lia is German and works in Government Affairs for a major supermarket.
What we do for fun has changed a lot since we first met; mainly because we now have two little boys and a dog. A fun weekend these days involves the great outdoors, brunch and some sort of kid-friendly adventure, like the North Norfolk steam train.
Fun facts, Lia used to do stand up comedy and Tom learned Japanese for a few years.
In a Pub in London, through mutual friends. For Lia, it was love at first sight. Tom’s first impression was “cutie” – haha.
Tom planned to propose in Bruges, Belgium, when we were on our way to spend Christmas with Lia’s family. After the weather on day one was awful, he proposed as we went for an early morning stroll the next day. Just as he popped the question, our son did an enormous poo in his nappy. Not quite the romantic moment Tom had planned, but certainly memorable.
A relaxed party with an autumnal colour theme.
We found the venue 18 months before our wedding day. We booked most of our suppliers in early, so after the initial planning stage of securing suppliers, there wasn’t much to do until a few months before the wedding.
We booked our venue first and then swiftly booked Lisa & Neil as they were the one supplier we really wanted.
Two moments for both of us – Lia walking down the aisle and our super fun first dance.
Lia’s family brought German wedding traditions to our day, including the competitive “Sheet Shaming Game” – which definitely made us laugh. Same for decorating gingerbread hearts, which are a firm staple at Oktoberfest.
Our speeches also made us laugh. Which isn’t surprising as humour is one of the things we love most about each other.
Tom cried when Lia walked down the aisle.
Tom’s favourites are the paparazzi shots, they’re just so unique (and we look hot).
Lia’s favourite is the one where we’re kissing on the beach and the dress and sunset are giving full drama.
Lia + Tom’s review
“The best decision I ever made? Marry the love of my life. The second best decision? Book Lisa & Neil to shoot our wedding!
The short review: Lisa & Neil are the full package – incredibly talented and lovely to be around.
The long review: Having followed Lisa & Neil on socials, I knew that their relaxed documentary-style photography would be the perfect fit for our wedding. The way they seemed to turn fleeting moments of the day into a lasting memory made me excited about the photographs we might get of our wedding day. To say that Lisa & Neil exceeded our expectations is a massive understatement! Lisa & Neil didn’t just capture our day, atmosphere and guests beautifully, but also managed to get an incredible mix of artsy and candid shots of us as a couple.
Lisa & Neil are also simply lovely human beings. Kind, funny, positive, easy going but assertive when needing to direct a crowd 😉 In the lead up to the wedding, their regular e-guides made wedding planning so much easier, and their advice on the day was invaluable to make sure we vaguely stuck to our schedule.
There is so much more I could say about the benefits of having two photographers, the pure joy that is gifs, their stunning editing style, the lovely things our guests said about Lisa & Neil and our photos….But I don’t know if Google reviews has a word limit, so I better leave it here.
Lisa & Neil, thank you both so much for turning the fleeting moments of our wedding day into lasting memories!”
