I was sat at the back of the ceremony, feeling the grass under my skin, listening to the blue tits singing in the tree behind me. Fiona and Tom had chosen to get married outdoors, and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting.
Just as I was taking it all in, the celebrant announced the string quartet would be playing Hoppípolla by Sigur Rós. She stumbled over the words, clearly unfamiliar with the song, but I knew it instantly. An old friend used to play it a lot, and as soon as the strings began, my eyes welled up.
I needed to move. I was currently at the back of the aisle and needed to be behind the quartet to capture Fiona and Tom’s reaction. I wiped away the tear that had slipped down my cheek, hesitating for a split second. Everyone was so lost in the moment and I didn’t want to disturb it. Even after doing this for so long, I still, sometimes, find myself hesitating. I don’t lack bravery. Sometimes the vibe is just so perfect I don’t want to ruin it with my presence. Or by falling over arse over tit and everyone staring at me.
Two seconds later I got over my worries. I swiftly got into position unnoticed and shot through the quartet, catching Fi and Tom’s faces as they turned towards the music. The rendition was stunning, though I admit I couldn’t listen to all of it. I had to focus, so I sang ‘I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts’ in my head to stop myself from crying again.
I took too many photos during that part of the day, and now you know why.
Later that night, back home, I reviewed the images while listening to Sigur Rós. If you want to feel the photos the way I did, here’s a playlist you can listen to as you scroll.

“Lisa and Neil did an amazing job of capturing our wedding day! They were responsive and approachable in the lead up to our wedding, including offering Zoom calls to talk through timings and finer details – this really took the stress out of the planning.
We absolutely loved having them with us on the day itself. As a husband and wife team, they were able to split up and capture both the bridal and groom preparations. During the ceremony and the remainder of the wedding, they came together seamlessly to cover every moment.
They were a huge hit with us and all our guests. Their energy and sense of humour were infectious. They perfectly balanced the challenges of time-keeping and wrangling guests with exquisite quality photography. They nimbly adapted to the natural light/weather conditions and had creativity in abundance. We received our photo gallery within less than a week, and we were blown away!
To try and summarise Lisa and Neil’s style of photography, I would say their USP is capturing life. Their photos are colourful, vibrant, natural, dynamic, clever and full of meaning. They see things how they are – they don’t apply sepia filters or make you pose for hours on end. The additional GIFs they shared with us were a lovely keepsake – we have received so many glowing comments about them!
Lisa and Neil work incredibly hard, and it shows. They have a deep care for you as the bride and groom, and ultimately the work they produce, which is nothing short of astounding.
Two lovely human-beings, we’re deeply grateful to Lisa and Neil for capturing the love and happiness of our wedding day in its truest form.”
